Sounds to me like you have an unhealthy love for Time Warner since you don't want to leave, even though other services do have what you want and offer better service. Or if you want to stay with your beloved Time Warner, move out here to the sticks in Eastern Erie county and you have TW Rochester which has CNN International, Encore Plex, and a few useless west coast feeds.

quote:
As far as the channels I watch and don't watch, why would you care?

Why shouldn't I? Channels with no real audience should be given higher priority over others. If a channel has real demand it should be added.

quote:
You are probably 23 years old and live with your parents.

Very good grasshopper. Google me? Yes I am 23, I live with my mother, we have two nice HDTVs (42" for my bedroom, 55" for the living room), I just purchased a $3K computer system, and a very beautiful Lincoln SUV. It's nice living home with mommy and being able to afford nice toys :D (And the $180 cable bill) And I won't be watching the Sabres in high def for the season opener, I'll be there, like last year, right behind the players bench, 2 tickets should only run me $350. Look for me in high def :D
--
A Vote For Obama Is A Vote For Osama, Keep America Safe, Vote Republican! *McCain/Palin 2008*

When the Big East tournament starts at the end of February in Basketball, how is TW Channel 13 going to handle its schedule plus NCAA basketball Big East?
FIOS is carrying MSG Plus in our area as part of their package. Do you know something that FIOS doesn't know, I doubt it.

You obviously have no idea about MSG and their broadcasting zones. DirecTV provides MSG Plus to WNY area residents in the clear, I had the channel when it was Fox Sports NY when I had DirecTV, every pro sports event is blacked out. The NY Knicks are on an alternate feed of MSG, known as MSG 2 when there are programming conflicts, NOT MSG Plus. MSG Plus is home to the Devils, Islanders and a few Red Bull games when there's other programming conflicts. That's it. Nothing we qualify for except a Red Bulls game or two, and the lame generic FSN programming. Time Warner can carry the channel, but it is not the broadcast home to any of our home teams (Sabres, Knicks, Yankees, Mets, Pirates, Indians, Red Bulls). TW Rochester carries it but it's not available to Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee or Wyoming residents, This leads me to believe TW doesn't have an agreement to carry it in the 8 county Buffalo market. Dish Network doesn't include it in base packages, why DirecTV and Verizon do is anyones guess, but the channel holds no real value where we live.

West coast feeds are being removed from TW line ups around the country, so don't expect any to be added. How many people are really going to leave TW for Verizon because TW doesn't carry HBO Zone West or Showtime Women West? Encore Movie Plex just shows the same movies are what's playing on the other Encore channels, but at different times, it's a waste. TW does not have contracts to my knowledge for Retroplex and Indieplex.

I gather you're concearned more about channel counts, then actual programming.

quote:
You are comparing apples to oranges with Direct TV and the Dish Network. Those two services can't bundle phone service or high speed internet with speeds compared to cable. Get with the the program will you.

Uh yes you can. Both Dish and DirecTV have partnerships with telcos for DSL and POTS allowing you to bundle and save a few bucks, but really what difference does it make. And bundling isn't a right and just because DirecTV doesn't have their own phone service or broadband service doesn't mean they don't compete. Get with the program? I know what competition is, DirecTV and Dish Network are Time Warner's competition, Time Warner didn't go from 18 HD channel to 47 in the past 7 months for no reason.

quote:
Finally, who has made you the resident expert for Time Warner because if you think you are, you are doing them a grave injustice.

I made myself the resident expert
--
A Vote For Obama Is A Vote For Osama, Keep America Safe, Vote Republican! *McCain/Palin 2008*
