It is past midnight here in the central time zone. I am going to go ahead and do a reboot to see if I get a speed bump. I doubt I will get anything at this time though. Might have to wait until the morning or afternoon.

| Gah! I rebooted and nada yet. Gotta go to bed soon to be up in time for school. I will reboot the modem when I get home and by then I should be a happy camper. I wonder if the uploads stay the same. My current upload is 500kbps. Not sure if that is going to be bumped up to 1 meg or what. Looks like you have to get the 15 meg to get the 1 meg upload. | |

| If I read the new tiers correctly, it looks like I fall in the 15/1 category. That totally rocks. I'm currently at 6/650 so I'm looking forward to seeing the increase when I get home this morning. Now to be completely satisfied, I hope that WOW is finally bringing Caller ID to TV into the Evansville market with this upgrade. Then I will have everything I need. | |

| Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site Here is the odd thing, I just priced out everything i have on WoW's website and compared it with what i pay now. Re-bundling everything would not only save me about 3 bucks, it would also upgrade me to the Xtreme Turbo tier from my regular Ultra internet. However i haven't called yet, so that might change :| | |

2 edits | Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site I have Digital Value, Ultra, HD DVR, and the rental modem. I just called about changing my Internet access to Xtreme 15/1. Just changing that and keeping everything else the same the sales rep confirmed that I would be saving $3/month.
So today I received 6 new HD channels since I didn't have the HD Pak. 2x the Internet speed and I'm being charged $3 less.
A lot of people were complaining early with all of the rumors, but all I have to say is that I'm a happy camper. Oh add in the fact that after going through WOW's phone tree the sales rep picked up on the first ring so I wasn't waiting on hold at all just like every other time I've called WOW.

| SScrorpio, I have the same bundle as you (Digital Value, HD DVR, Ultra tier, and rented telephony modem). So you called the rep and moved from Xpress (8/1) to Xtreme (15/1) and your bill went down $3, how? The old Ultra and the new Xpress tier are both the same price (57.99) while the Xtreme is 67.99 | |

| Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site I'm sure if I moved to the Xpress 8/1 my bill would have gone down even more. But they didn't modify what I was being charged even with the new bundle prices. Call them up and see if your bill changes, the worse that can happen is that it's the same so you don't make any changes. | |

| Goober, I'm not sure what plan you are on, but your price is low. Summer of '07 WOW had the Digital Value, Advanced Phone, and Ultra Internet, and DVR package for $99 and it had the three year price guarantee.
I guess you could have gotten a HD DVR instead of a normal one, but you should be paying for both DVRs. You would then be at about $126 plus taxes.
|
| Goober Premium join:2000-12-17 Naperville, IL | Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site That's the exact package I have. How is my pricing low?

| Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site You said you have two HD DVRs. WOW charges for all HD DVRs. I tried switching in a HD over the standard def DVR back when I had that package but they were going to charge me the normal full price.
You should be paying $99.99 + $11.99 + $11.99 = $123.97
You are also on a rate locked bundle, and by changing your Internet access you would come off that pricing to the current rate which is why there is the price increase to you.
|
| | | Goober Premium join:2000-12-17 Naperville, IL 1 edit | Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site I didn't ask for the HD DVR with the regular bundle. They didn't have any of the others available.
My bill shows it only as the Signature Bundle, which is the one you are referring to.

| Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site I rebooted the modem after I got off the phone with them, and then it reboot itself about 15 minutes later. I'm still seeing my normal Ultra speeds.
I'm working from home ATM so I'm trying to keep my network resets to a minimum as it's a pain to keep getting back on the VPN.
I'll mess around with it more tonight and I might have to call them up and see what's going on.

| I was getting the Advanced Internet and Advance Phone (4mbps) for $77.99 a month. I just upgraded to Xtreme 15/1 for $2 extra a month. So basically I am getting an extra 11mbps down for $2. Not too shabby. Speed test show I am only downloading around 9000 though, how can you tell what .bin file you have. I don't see it listed anywhere on my 192.168.100.1 Arris page? | |

The first C**k-head I spoke to was a smug unhelpful pri**. But, I called back again and after waiting 5 minutes got a nice lady who went ahead and did it without any trouble at all. I wonder if some memo went out or something.

First, though, I requested to speak with retentions. The lady said, "sure," and then came back and said that retentions was busy, but that maybe she could take care of me. I told her what I wanted and she went off for a couple of minutes to ask about it. Came back, and the deal was done.

| Just spoke to a CSR. Switching from 6/650 to 15/1 was going to run about 8 dollars more per month plus tax. But get this....the guy actually told me NOT to go with 15/1 until I see how the 8/1 works for me once the switch is made. He said since I'm not a gamer that I would basically have no use for all that extra bandwidth.
Also, he told me the switchover to the new tiers won't necessarily take place today for all customers. He said it's being done in stages between today and October 16th. So don't freak out if your new speeds aren't there after 500 reboots. That means it's just not your turn yet.

| I'm starting to believe there might be some truth to the fact that this might be a staggered rollout (over a lengthier period of time) for current customers, however new customers or people getting repackaged will see the new speeds sooner.
This is just a guess, backed up with no information.
