Re: New Internet Tiers Now Listed on WOW's Site

I rebooted the modem after I got off the phone with them, and then it reboot itself about 15 minutes later. I'm still seeing my normal Ultra speeds.

I'm working from home ATM so I'm trying to keep my network resets to a minimum as it's a pain to keep getting back on the VPN.

I'll mess around with it more tonight and I might have to call them up and see what's going on.

I just did the same. I got the 15/1 for $1.97 more per month.

The first C**k-head I spoke to was a smug unhelpful pri**. But, I called back again and after waiting 5 minutes got a nice lady who went ahead and did it without any trouble at all. I wonder if some memo went out or something.

I called and my bundle price went down around $1.00 but they wanted $10 more per month for 15 mb internet (I was on Ultra before). Whats up with that?

How are you guys getting 15 mb so cheap?

I had asked them if they could give me the 15/1 and not break my bundle.

First, though, I requested to speak with retentions. The lady said, "sure," and then came back and said that retentions was busy, but that maybe she could take care of me. I told her what I wanted and she went off for a couple of minutes to ask about it. Came back, and the deal was done.

Just spoke to a CSR. Switching from 6/650 to 15/1 was going to run about 8 dollars more per month plus tax. But get this....the guy actually told me NOT to go with 15/1 until I see how the 8/1 works for me once the switch is made. He said since I'm not a gamer that I would basically have no use for all that extra bandwidth.

Also, he told me the switchover to the new tiers won't necessarily take place today for all customers. He said it's being done in stages between today and October 16th. So don't freak out if your new speeds aren't there after 500 reboots. That means it's just not your turn yet.

That seems like a hot steamy load. But whatever . . .

SO after all this anticipation we might have to wait another month. That sucks!

I doubt that the CSR knows what he was talking about.

It's advertised as specific speeds on their website. Darn straight they better have the speeds going right now to wherever their website reaches.

I thought I was getting a good deal, but maybe not after listening to you guys. I get Digital basic, 1 DVR, 1 extra dig box, and adv internet for 76.99 ($80 after tax).

I think there are some significant savings when you go the three bundle route.

I barely use my cell minutes, therefore I have no land line. With t-mobile I get 1500 anytime min for $40/mth.

I agree that's a better way to go.

We're just not ready to make that transition yet in our house.

But, at any rate, I think when you bundle more, the discounts are greater. At least I would imagine they have more leeway.

Has anyone received any kind of officialy notification from WOW about the speed changes? I'm just wondering if the change will coincide with a notice from the company.
