sunny8294 : Thanks for your replies. I am planning to back them up to a remote server. I am trying to use a script that I found on the web but for some reason it is not tar-ing the conf files.
--
.:: Sunny ::.

benyto : Sure. They're just plain text files. Copying them is as simple as running the cp command. To do it on a schedule use cron.

You don't give information on where you want to back it up to (same server, remote server, etc.) so giving specific advice isn't possible. Read the man pages for the two above commands for more information.

sunny8294 : Can anyone tell if it is possible to backup config files of apache2, mysql? I know that I can image the entire partition but I'm looking into a solution where I will be able to backup the individual config file everyday.
--
.:: Sunny ::.
