I only had it for 4 days before the service outage, but it can pause live tv, but only on the TV with the DVR.
Supposely, the Total Home DVR is just an software/firmware upgrade. (It says there is no new equipment to install)
It's suppose to roll out by end of this year. I've heard that it can only pause live tv on the TV attached to the DVR.
The AT&T's promotion doesn't mention the pausing of the live TV. It just mentions the ability to watch recorded TV from many different places.
I guess we'll find out once it's rolled out.
