ak3883 : I believe the issue was that HBO refused to give providers HD OnDemand, since cable boxes have unencrypted HD outputs(component). HBO had their panties in a bunch because they thought that all of their movies/shows would instantly show up online and be pirated.

I used to be able to get right around this, when OnDemand was unencrypted, then you could watch on any QAM tuner in the house, including one hooked up to a PC that can record ClearQAM...

If I ever were to pick a premium movie service, it sure wouldn't be HBO, no HD OnDemand would be one of if not the top reason. Premiums are also $20/month here!!! It works out to slightly less when you have Digi preferred w/ 1 premium, but "a la carte" each premium is 19.99.

BDCat : AIUI, HBO pulled their HD VOD from all suppliers, not just Comcast. Never heard anything about a dispute (that doesn't mean there wasn't one, though).

cypherstream : I think HBO pulled their HD-VOD content from Comcast after some kind of dispute. For now you have to watch HBO in SD when using VOD. So I DVR what I like from HBO HD like that new series True Blood, which is excellent.

moulder3 : Does Comcast carry HBO On Demand in HD in any market? I signed up with Comcast because they HEAVILY advertised their HD VOD offerings. Now I find out that while they have Starz HD VOD...no HBO?!? (I'm in Boston)

Does anyone know if/when this will be added?
