Re: [Unlock] TUTORIAL: VONAGE WRTP54G/RTP300 WITH 5.01.04 Thanks for the clarification. Where can I get the modified WRTP54G 3.1.27-NA (non-ETSI) firmware? I searched here but can only find the ETSI version. Thanks. |

 | reply to DogFace05 That is what a standard means, is it not? It's little more than a listed definition intended to ensure devices of different design and manufacture produce a response that will reliably fall within certain parameters. I do not dispute that this standard does not guarantee reliability of signal transmission once it has left the device. My previous statement should have been worded differently. My apologies. To clarify another point that may have been misinterpreted, the device's output will not differ based on its physical location, but as DogFace05 stated, it does not guarantee the response will be within standards of nations outside the jurisdiction of the ETSI. The point on legality is well taken. I should have specifically mentioned that it would not guarantee operation within the guidelines of the FCC, and as such, could and likely would be illegal in the USA. |

 | reply to Phoenix2088 Thank you for the instructions. I have one of these router and was looking to unlock for a long time and did not get much information. This made the unlock a breeze. Thank a lot. |

 | reply to Phoenix2088 Hi, I am able to unlock the RTP devices. I am now interested in the configuration in md5. It started with LMMC and we can unzip it with zlib. I just cannot find how to get the CRC checksum. If we can generate this checksum we should be able to generate valid configuration file. The reason is we should be able to skip the CYT tool for device like VT2442. VT2442 can upload configuration and if we generate legal config then the missing GUI to config the VOIP part will not be big issue any more. Does anyone know how to generate the checksum of the configuration? |

toro join:2006-01-27 Scarborough, ON | Could you please explain a little further how are you trying to accomplish the unlock based on data stored in /dev/mtd5 ? And how would you be able to upload data in the mtd5 partition if the router is still locked ? |

| Yeah, I've been using JTAG for months with the VT2x42 devices. I just don't see what would be the use to read/write information from/to the mtd5 partition (the primary xml config) or why would someone bother about the checksum. Once unlocked, these units can be provisioned easily through HTTP ot TFTP, which is what people on this forum have been doing for years. |

 | reply to Phoenix2088 Just found this thread today and I have been trying for the better part of several hours to unlock my wrtp54g.
However, I seem to be overlooking something.
My router has the 1.00.62 firmware so, I started at step 5
I can run tftpd32 and it SEEMS to finish the provisioning.
It is when I use another tab to login, it gives me the following message
Error: User not allowed to login this user level.
I can log back into the router using the default passwords but, I cannot get into the voice tab so I may upgrade the firmware.
I am sure I am missing something but, cant figure out what it is.
Could I buy a clue?!! : ) |
|
 | Are you using CYT at this step? |
|
 | Yes...I meant CYT..not tftpd.
I started at step 5 at first and had no luck...then I went through all the steps to see if that helped...it has not as of yet.
Again, seems and states it provisioned correctly but, I cannot login with any passwords except admin, admin and then of course it is still showing the default linksys page with same firmware |

toro join:2006-01-27 Scarborough, ON | You must first login to the router's web interface as admin/admin and then try to access the /Update.html which will prompt you to login again (at this point login as Admin/Admin). Is that what you are doing ? |
|
 | reply to Phoenix2088 Yes...I believe so!
I have one page open before running tftpd and then once if configures, I open another page and try to login with Admin and user
It will not work..however, I can turn right around and login with admin/admin only...much like NOTHING has changed.
That is why I think I must be overlooking something |
|
 | when trying to login to the update.html I get a 404 error
404 Not Found The requested URL '//Update.html' was not found on this server. |
|
toro join:2006-01-27 Scarborough, ON | Use the same browser window. Login first as admin/admin then enter /Update.html (if that doesn't work try /Update.htm) and when prompted to login again use Admin/Admin |

Man I was all excited when I saw this post unfortunately it does not work for me! I went through the instructions twice on my rtp300. I have verified I am running the 1.00.62 firmware. Everything up to that point went fine but I am unable to unlock using cyt. It never gets past "Simple xml server is waiting for your device" screen In the left lower corner it says xml server started. In the right corner it says Your device is rtp300. Anyone have any ideas about this? |

|
 | Yes I have searched through many many forums and read all of this thread. could there be some networking issue? The cyt program seems to be able to tell that I have a rtp300 attached. |
|
 | It sounds like you have your computer's firewall enabled and blocking your RTP300's attempt to contact CYT's "Simple xml server." You need to disable any such firewall. |

Re: [Unlock] TUTORIAL: VONAGE WRTP54G/RTP300 WITH 5.01.04 I am reading these threads and seems some of you are real pro in this field. But I couldn't find "How to debrick a WRTP54G" I got some info from open wrtp but don't see the complete procedure. I have made my own unbuffered cable and looking for rest of the information to fix the boot section I would really appreciat if someone guide me through and help me out of it. I don't have any software, utility or boot sector image?? thanks |

toro join:2006-01-27 Scarborough, ON | I couldn't find "How to debrick a WRTP54G" You may want to describe exactly the symptoms. Do you have a serial console to see if at least the boot loaded starts ? Does the power light blink when you power it on ? |
