I guess it takes one to know one
Because we all know a defense attorney would never do anything to hide evidence or drag out a case and in general do everything legal or not to deny justice.

And we also all know how the RIAA uses bullying tactics to win cases that have no legal merit.

Most of the cases never go to trial. They bully the "defendant" who agrees to pay...normally a reduced amount than what accused of. Most of the accused have no way to defend nor afford to hire a good attorney....so they just roll over.

So Obama says McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. Well Obama voted with Bush 50% so that cancels out 50% of 90. So 50 from 90 leaves 40%...you have to qualify every statement these people feed those who blindly believe it. Obama, not ready to lead.

I know!! It's a shame the RIAA even has to do this! The RIAA is trying to do what is right through honorable actions and this guy keeps on dishonestly defending the very thieves that the RIAA is trying to bring to Justice.

History shows that the RIAA is very competent and has been nothing but honest about it's intentions and respectful of the law.

This guy is getting what he deserves as no one should be able to step up and defend someone against the RIAA. That is just plain wrong.

Do you have proof that the lawyer in this case acted in such a manner or are you just painting every defense lawyer with a mile wide brush?

Actually, in my mind, the biggest problem with his statement is at the very end, "do everything legal 'or not'". Any lawyer, defense or otherwise is obligated to follow the law. Prove otherwise. It's that same kind of whisper campaign used on a certain presidential candidate. Make implications without actual charges, and eventually it becomes 'common knowledge', even though it's still a lie. Just like 'all defense lawyers lie to get their client off'. As someone said earlier, 'until YOU need a lawyer to defend you against bogus charges. I would also point out that if the bar for civil evidence was as high as it is for criminal, OJ would have won his civil suit.

A mile? This guys' mile wide brush is just a pinstripe.

Indeed, defense attorneys are horrible human beings and should be despised and heckled at every opportunity... until, that is, you're wrongly accused of something in a criminal or civil court. Then they're suddenly your best (and only) friend.

Isn't there a phrase, "1% of lawyers give the other 99% a bad name"
