Re: GREAT! Traded 502 errors for 400 errors in NG's

I find it interesting that I can have over 20 disconnects in one day, file a complaint, and then have no disconnects for a period. I do not reset the modem, don't reboot the computer,nothing! Absolutely no actions on my part, yet there is no problem found, and NG use returns to normal.

I sure would like to know what happens when a "ticket is opened",because I have been complaining of this problem for some time. I believe it is a Qwest problem, but all I have ever gotten from DSLX is "we don't see the problem",and "we opened a ticket" on it.
(just got disconnected again)
This really sucks.
maybe I need to back to dial-up

Are you using your landline to call support? When you pick up the phone, the voltage that goes through the line can temporarily "seal" a bad cable joint. So if your line has intermittent problems, picking up the phone may "solve" the for a short period of time. That might explain why the problem goes away every time you try to report the issue.

Next time you start having problems with dropped connections, try calling support with your cell phone.

NO
Phone is not in use,being used,ringing,off-hook,nothing.

over 20 disconnects yesterday in 5 hour frame. Same period today = 2 disconnects.

In other words, the less the phone gets used, the more you may have certain types of problems. When you called support, did you use your landline or a cell?

I have not;
1.a cell phone
2.CALLED support.
I have emailed them.
By the time my complaint is addressed, the problem disappears.

As this has been a ongoing problem, I have found support to be lacking. Numerous times I have been advised that :a ticket was opened: with the telco. To date I have not been contacted about OLD "tickets". Each time I complain, the problem seems resolved for a week or two.
There appears no causal-effect relationship to phone usage.
