Not sure when exactly this happened (was in the last few weeks) but I now have DOCSIS 2.0 here (woohoo). First Comcast hop no longer responds to ping, and uploads are now 10+ Mbps on PowerBoost. |

i think the morgantown , wv got upgraded with this. had a few hour outage then came back online with faster powerboost speed. would get a max of 2.9mbyte download now its spiking up to 3.9mbyte for a min or two.
upload went up to 7mbit from 3mbit |

But then again it is hard to tell on the upload part. Downloads always start off really fast, then drop down to normal speeds (1,000 kb). Uploads on the other hand, I'm not so sure about anymore. This morning I was downloading the latest Ubuntu image and left the upload speed maxed out, got up a few hours later and it was pegging a constant 420 kb/s. That's much higher than I've ever seen, and it wasn't just a few minutes type of thing, I had uploaded like 3.8 gigs of the image in a few hours time.

For that matter, the OP sounds like he received an automated call saying that the connection would be unavailable due to upgrades. Its very conceivable they will wait until the general area is done before "throwing the switch". |

Yeah, go figure. The chat was useless, they told me to call Comcast. So I called, and the guy said all they have in my area is the 6 and 8 meg tiers. So I mentioned that someone close to me is being upgraded today or tomorrow and he said they don't have that kind of information available to them.
Uh huh. Oh well, guess I'll wait and see then like you guys
