 | 50mbps, SURE! $150, nah. I'd love to see the 50mbps come to my area. However, at a ripe $150 it is not nearly feasible. I would expect a connection with such a high download rate to be counter balanced with some upload. 10:1 ratio? cmon, that is ridiculous. Right now I have 8/2 plan (4:1). I am plenty happy with it, and so it everyone else in the household. $150 connection deserves a little more than a 5mbps up...
just my 2 cents.
I hope by the end of 2010 when the this should be completely rolled out that the price of this will drop dramatically. At that time I'll reconsider the service. I'd probably wait a while before going all out, see how the Comcast DOCSIS 3.0 provided modems turn out, how personal bought ones are... SB's have been solid performers, hopefully that will be carried through with the 6120. |

The existing Minneapolis market 50/5 deployment is using hardware that does not support upstream channel bonding. I suspect upstream speeds are going to be limited until upstream bonding capable hardware starts hitting production lines and becomes real.
You can only deploy the hardware that's available to you. |

 | Well in that case I will wait for the technology to become a consumer's reality |

 | You could always get it and drop the cable TV to save on the price and then just stream stuff off the internet couldn't you? Been reading a lot of stuff is becoming available online now. |

 | reply to JerryTongue I'm not the only one in the household that may use TV. So that choice cannot be made. And plus, watching TV online will just make me hit that cap so much more quickly |
