They All Use Robo-Dialers Eventually

Verizon isn't the only company that harasses subscribers with the robo-dialer for whatever reason. The only companies that haven't started (as of yet) are the water/gas/electric companies, but I'm sure they're just aching to use the automated dialer.

It's only a matter of time as most organizations that shelled out for the technology seem to want to use it whether the customer consents to it or not. I had to write several nastigrams and otherwise threaten to stop service with the water delivery company that insisted on ringing my number with their auto-dialer an hour before the delivery truck was scheduled to pick up/drop off water. This, of course, was useless as even if I had forgotten, calling an hour in advance to remind me would not have helped get the empties out on the porch since I was at the office.
