is that a custom built rig? the mobo in my comp doesn't appear to be designed as well in terms of placement of connectors etc (thinking about future upgrades). a few of the connection jacks for my sata drives are in the place such a long card would go, whereas it doesn't appear you have anything in the way to install such a large card.

You have a HP right? It would make sense large cards don't fit in there.

Those long cards would not fit in my midtower case. See, there's not much space left in front of my 3870. Here's also how I modded the front of my Antec case to increase airflow through the 120mm fan (yes, it's black pantihose filtering). I'll probably get an Intel E8600 with Asus mainboard and 8Gb RAM in a few weeks. Gonna use a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 to replace the Intel stock HSF and overclock this baby to ~4.5GHz.

I basically rehaul my PC every 2-3 years, so now is due time.

Here are my current specs.

CPU: AMD Athlon64 X2 4200+ 2200MHz @ 2200MHz or 2700MHz (when I feel like overclocking)

Motherboard: ASUS A8N32-SLI-DX

Memory: 3040 MB of Kingston Value RAM PC3200

Video Card: ExtremePC (Diamond) Radeon 3870 (820/1200 default) ATI Radeon

Hard Drive: Seagate ST3300831A (IDE) 300.0 GB @ 7200 RPMS

Additional Hard Drives: Seagate ST3500320AS 500GB (SATA),
Comstar external HD 250GB (USB2)

Monitor: BenQ FP241W 24" 1920x1200 LCD

DVD Manufacturer & Model: LG HL-DT-ST GDR8164B
DVD R/W: Pioneer DVR-111D

Storage Interface: IDE,SATA,USB2

Sound Card: onboard sound

Speakers: Altec ACS45.1W, Yamaha YST-MS28

Internet Connection: Sympatico (Ultra) xDSL @ 5034/658 kbps real speed

Operating System: Windows XP Corporate (University)

Other Components:

Modded Antec SLK3700-BQE case, additional front Antec 120mm fan

Enermax Infiniti 720 PSU

Thermalright SI-120 with Antec 120mm fan, AS5 thermal compound

Logitech Internet Keyboard

Logitech TrackMan Wheel

Lexmark Z705 inkjet printer

Cannon Canoscan 4200F scanner

MadCatz Panther XL joystick+trackball combo

I build 100+ systems a year and mostly use NCIX because they have such a huge inventory. They also carry the unusual stuff like MCP655 12V Industrial Pumps for watercooled systems and the very popular custom blocks.

However, once, I ordered a 4000$ (in parts) system for a client with TWO 280GTX. I only had one in the box. I called... they didn't believe me.

It took serious yelling, a talk with a supervisor to make them understand I would spam the entire Internet with their major fuck-up and to look at my ordering record to see I was a regular customer who had never done this.

They finally sent a new one out, but I'm telling you, this kind of mistake is unacceptable.

Yes. It's a Coolermaster Elite 330 case with an ASUS P5Q-PRO mobo.

It would be rather pointless for them to run a Canadian web site and ship the orders from the U.S.

It's quite possible, I believe that's what Tigerdirect does.

I don't think NCIX will be quaking in their boots. I price
parts all the time and yes, many shops have some items lower
than NCIX but on the whole if you buy from the weekly sale
page NCIX is really really competitive. The other thing that
keeps me going back to NCIX is the fact they have 95% of the
items I want IN STOCK. So many shops here in the Vancouver
area advertise parts on sale but only carry a few in stock.
P*sses me off when I have to drive all the way back a day
later.

The only advantage for me with NewEgg will be no provincial
tax if they ship from Ontario.
