This is awesome! We'll have fierce competition and NCIX will now be forced to offer good customer service again
Competition is not a bad thing, but I have zero complaints about NCIX. However, if Newegg is coming to Canada, they will have a long way top go to beat NCIX. NCIX not charging 8% PST for Ontario residents is a major competitive advantage, as are their low cost shipping deals. I just purchased an nVidia GTX 260 for $239 plus shipping and PST and after a $40 MIR ($278 total cost).

I'm hoping their prices are lower so I can price match on NCIX.

yeap me to, their service has been perfect for me no problems there. But I do find that shopRBC can still beat them by price for the exact same product.

just take a look for example at;
Seagate 7200.11 750GB 7200RPM 32MB SATAII Hard Drive, 5Yr

ShopRBC $118 x %8PST = $127.44
NCIX $152.95

Even with the PST it's still cheaper and they have flat rate shipping on no matter how much you buy.

I agree that competition is good.

For about 130, you can get a 1TB at NCIX

RBC are awesome. I get them to price match and then I pick up the items and save on shipping. They're only 10 minutes from my house.

I just purchased a 1GB 4870 direct from Diamond Multimedia in California for $299 with $15 shipping (total $314) and no taxes whatsoever. Just hoping customs won't do me in the butt too badly but as the Sapphire equivalent sells for $369 in Ottawa, plus taxes, I think I'll come out ahead even with some reasonable duties.

My local reseller is buying my factory-overclocked 3870 and I'm selling some textbooks so this will end up costing me about $50 for doubling my speed and my VRAM (Oblivion sometimes takes up to 950MB of VRAM with the detailed textures I'm using).

Heard it's almost as big as a 4870X2 (which I did not buy because that would leave me me only a 1/4" free space between the hard disk drive cage and the graphic card (that plus it's beyond my financial means).Also I'm an ATI fan (my only nVidia card ever was my first one, a nice Diamond Viper V770 back in 1999).

I hope it's not a crippled version of U.S. Newegg, like the Amazon.com and Amazon.ca.

Why such dislike toward UPS?

is that a custom built rig? the mobo in my comp doesn't appear to be designed as well in terms of placement of connectors etc (thinking about future upgrades). a few of the connection jacks for my sata drives are in the place such a long card would go, whereas it doesn't appear you have anything in the way to install such a large card.
