CoxTOC1 posted : Yes, but it applies to all abuse not just copyright. Those strikes also fall off over time (And it varies by abuse type as well), if you have a cox.net e-mail address we'll e-mail you a whole bunch of warnings before we start suspending/"striking" you. We rely don't want to turn your services off (It's a pain for everyone involved) and we sure don't want to terminate your service (Hence the very lengthly call to Atlanta and the acknowledgment of further complaints resulting in termination).

My suggestion would be to make sure you have a cox.net e-mail set up (If you don't simply call into your local call center's tech support and they can get it set up for you.) and then log into the webmail system and set up a forwarder to forward any e-mail's from abuse@cox.net to wherever you would like (If you run into any problems setting up a forwarder you local tech support should be able to assist you with that as well). It's much more pleasant to get a e-mail warning than to have your services interrupted!

CoxTOC1 posted : I think some further explanation is necessary here...

If you are actually to the point where we will not turn your service back on then we have suspended your services a few times already. In fact the last time we would have talked you would have had to call the Corp. Office and talked to the Corp. Abuse team. They would have explained in depth what was happening and asked you several times if you had any questions about what was going on. Once all that was done they would have asked you to acknowledge that if we received any more complaints that we would terminate your HSI account.

So rely if you were actually terminated after all that well...

Now if you feel that you termination was unjustified or that you were not properly warned about the consequences of copyright infringement then drop me a line and I'll happily research it.
