| [Sprint] Highly Recommended upgrade
I have had a few days to play with my new HTC touch diamond and if anyone is looking to upgrade with sprint, this is the phone to get right now... Even compared to the Mogul it's faster, easier and has way better reception and voice quality... Hopefully I help someone out with this.. |

| said by cnet :...As for text entry, you can use the onscreen keyboard, which you can switch from full QWERTY to compact QWERTY to phone keyboard or other format, depending on your preference. Most of the time, we used the full QWERTY mode and though it looked fairly cramped, we found it pretty easy to use and didn't have too many mispresses. On the other hand, when you have the keyboard open, it takes up about half of the screen, so if you're entering text into any field on the bottom half of the screen, it's covered up. It's actually quite annoying. From that review, back in June, it sounds like it has some nice qualities but, comparing it to my Sprint Treo 755p, I'm trying to imagine how it would function for email, filling out web page forms, the sort of stuff I do quite a bit. |

| Honestly the best thing I can tell is to go try it out. I have a HTC 8525 with AT&T. I like but don't really want to upgrade to the Tilt would rather wait it out.
I tried the iphone and it was nice but it had some draw backs for a corporate user that uses exchange. My other issue with it was the fact that you can type in landscape mode at all only in portrait. Which for me on the HTC phones that have slide out keyboard it feels more natural to type that way with two hands vs one. |

Set the alarm to go off this morning. On my old Mogul I would get a popup to turn off or snooze. On this one it just went off with no options to do anything. I had to pull the battery to shut it up. |

If you go to settings, sounds and notifications, and then the notifications tab and check display message on screen box... | reply to bobjohnson Would you be so kind to check your manual and tell me how thick the phone is? I read different measurements on the thickness of the phone. Hopefully it isn't more than 14mm. I don't like if the phone is too thick. One reason iphone is popular is because it is thin (my guess). |

It is thicker than the iphone though... -- Any unauthorized copying or distribution of the opinion above constitutes stupidity and you should probably be punished

| reply to bobjohnson I'm a long time PPC handset user, glad to hear the Touch Diamond is working out well. I'm still holding out for the HTC Touch Pro to replace my Mogul. That or the Touch HD. I can't make up my mind, but the keyboard is an attractive part. -- "Some people never see the light till it shines thru bullet holes." -Bruce Cockburn

| reply to bobjohnson I just sent the Diamond back. I like it but too many little quirks. I think I'll wait on the Pro or try something else entirely. The price they want for the new Touch series is making the Google phone or Iphone pretty appealing.
1-Music stops playing for no reason or pauses while trying to do ANYTHING. 2-Battery life is pretty weak. I have researched and done the tweaks. 3-Fewer softbuttons restricts some of the functions I enjoyed on the Mogul. 4-The internal 4gb memory has come up missing once or twice after a reboot. 5-No keyboard. 6-I can't get the increasing ring feature to work properly. |
