| reply to jfiveNYC Re: [TWC] NYC - Slow Speeds, Part 2
said by jfiveNYC :UPDATE: \He confirmed that there is an overloaded node in the Flushing/NE Queens vicinity. Funny thing is, customers and patrons to this forum have known about TWC's overloaded nodes for a long time. At least one engineer is honest to this fact.
Sadly, this has been going on for a couple of years. |

| reply to jfiveNYC Yea, I've already spoken with the internal techs. I have to call them again tomorrow (they said it could take up to one week). I only got to here after yelling at the regular techs who say I use a different server when using a wireless router. So far I have not noticed any difference in speeds. Took about 3 hours to download a 461mb file. |

Just got off the tele with TWC. The opening message says: customers in Astoria, LIC, and Flushing may experience brief disruptions in cable, internet, and phone service.
I didn't even bother speaking to a rep because I am assuming that this message means they will be replacing/fixing this f#$%ing error in nodes.
Keep your fingers crossed people!!!

Yea man, FiOS can't get here fast enough. The moment it does, and I mean the same day, I will cancel everything from TWC.
They must have done something overnight because I have never gotten speeds this fast:
Now if they could just breach the 8.5Mb threshold, I will be happy. |

I knew my previous speeds wouldn't last. Damnit!

| reply to dbmaven New node placed on - these speeds are constant, until more users come on doing P2P 24x7. Also alot of you having these slow speeds, do you have any sort of P2P - BitTorrent going on? Sometimes when you close the program, it doesn't really close, it just stays on in the systemtray.

I hope my speed issues are finally resolved by the end of the month. |

Nothing running. I've tried speed tests on a fresh boot. I've even reformatted my computer in case there was any spyware/adware on my computer. |

@rr.com | reply to dbmaven Pardon my ignorance but is sub 500kb/s a normal upload rate? I've consistently had this speed for some time, and can't imagine that it's really capped off so low?? |

join:2005-03-16 Flushing, NY | I believe the standard download rate is around 500kbps. |
