Reporting from Southern California here. XO is down for us again too. I've placed several calls into their office so far today on this. Best case is sitting on hold for at least 20 minutes listening to crappy music before the automated operator coming on saying they're experiencing technical difficulties and are unable to take the call. I then get disconnected. Most of the time I get a southern sounding guy who simply states "We are experiencing a high call volume and cannot take your call at this time. Please call back later." Their system then hangs up on me.

One of my colleagues put in a call to them, got a hold of someone in accounting who told him that they "weren't accepting support calls". What kind of company does this? As soon as a problem comes up, they just ignore the customer? I'm already shopping around for another ISP and will be kicking XO Communications, their dismal support and mediocre service to the curb as soon as our contract is up. Apparently the contract is only meant to guarantee you keep paying and it seems to be only optional for XO to provide the service, let alone support it.

We are down in Central WA State as well. The customer service rep told me that "they lost an entire chassis" at a CO in the Northwest. At 15:00 PDT, they told me the ETA to repair was 10 hours. YIKES!

Been on hold with them for one hour and 12 minutes so far. Still no answer.

It's not the technical problems that bug me. It's the complete lack of respect for the paying customer and total disregard for THEIR end of the contractual obligation to provide service and the necessary support to back it. What would happen to our internet connection if Accounting decided to have "technical difficulties" and just stop paying XO for a month or two?

I'm located in the St. Louis area.

There seemed to be an issue with DNS at first. Doing a traceroute made it look like stuff was dying at "us.xo.net" locations.

I guess it wasn't just us.

Why aren't there more XO-related posts? The only info I saw on this forum was about it going down yesterday.
Do that few people use XO?
