Yes, it is still set to "email"... And I got an email notification for your reply... But I have not received any notifications for all the others over the past week or so in other forums I have posted in...

I had this problem once, and it was my fault - wound up on spam. Not happening to you, though. So I don't know right know what might be the issue.

For the heck of it, can you create a new email address at a provider different from your current one and see if that makes the situation better or worse?

I'm embarrassed and apparently VERY confused about this... I've learned that notifications are received just for direct replies... I assume that means threads I have started myself or ones I've have posted in and received direct replies from... But if I post in a thread and am not directly replied to I do not get a notification... MY BAD.......

Kudos for coming back and telling the truth!! Yes, this is how it works here. Function, not a bug. So, you're all good! Problem solved!

Edit: If you have started a thread, you'll get the notifications if you're directly replied to (like you said). But, there will be many other replies usually, so check back to your thread frequently.
