Last step of getting an Apache Server up and running

winrowc : Hi,

I have Fedora 9.0 with both Apache and XAMPP installed and I am trying to set up a web server. I disabled the previously stalled Apache's process because that is necessary to use xampp, as Xampp has its own version of Apache as part of the package.

So my problem is that I can't see the apache test page when I should be able to. I have a Static IP from verizon business fios, and i checked with canyouseeme.org to make sure port 80 is open, which it is. I have DMZ host for the computer so Im fairly certain theres nothing being blocked.

Now apparently if everything checks out, if I type in »localhost I should get the Xampp splash page and if I type in »(mycomputers IP) I should get the Apache test page. So the localhost works, I get the Xampp page, but I can't see the Apache page. I was able to see the apache page before I installed Xampp, and disabled the Fedora version of apache though. All I get now with Xampp running (I know that the Xampp Apache is running because the terminal says it is) is the Router login page. What's more, when I set my IP as a nameserver for one of my domains, when I go to that domain, the Router page comes up again. I have a feeling this is a small problem, as everything else works and port 80 is open, I just cant figure out why its going to my router login page, rather than showing the Apache page like it did when I didnt have Xampp installed and just Apache. Ive tried from another computer that goes through the same router and the result is the same. And Im fairly confident that if i tried my router's IP from a compputer outside the network I would get a "page not found" or something similar. Any suggestions would help a lot.

Thanks!
