Forget any DSL problems you may have. Get voice repair to fix the line so you don't have any of those issues. That will usually fix any DSL problems.

Voice Repair is Verizon Telephone service repair. If there is hearable noise on your telephone line and you have DSL as well, after a little bit of troubleshooting, if the noise is still there, Voice Repair is what to call.

I'm getting ridiculously high latency. It's pretty unusable if you want to play any online games. It's barely passable for surfing the damn net.

its been pissing me off since friday night. it happened last weekend, and the 2 or 3 weekends before that. it goes away during the week then rears its ugly head friday afternoon.

Wow, I thought it was only me experiencing these frequent timeouts...while surfing the internet, and as usual tech support says it's not on their end, so they can't do anything about it...

@verizon.net
same here 11214

it must be easy to fix if they have people willing to actually work. Vzzzzzon is a big company, the DMV works better. A LOT better.

im in 11421, and the latency is still ridiculous at 7am. If there was FIOS in my area, i'd switch to it -- I'm looking into road runner today.

Have had VDSL since the first month(11204) they introduced the 768k package(5-6-7? years ago?). Upgraded to 1.5Mbps then to 3.0Mbps.

Didn't have issues this troublesome until about 2 months ago. Problems still persist. Currently have a ticket open on the direct forums. meh.

@verizon.net

this thread started on September , and now this is .. November?

anyway it's complicated even to get to this page, is that slow here in brooklyn.

called the suypport in India and I had to spend a good part of my life answering useless questions and checking my computer after I said that's slow also on my laptop...
I'll try the VZ direct in here but I'm just tired of all those useless questions: don't they know that's slow? I mean.. what do they do all day long, and for two whole months?

where is the competition?

Yeah, go make a post. Tell them your name, verizon account name, etc.[ Read the rules before posting ]. They'll ask you to do a couple of tracert/ping tests. Also ask you for 4-5 speed tests from a verizon site they give you but they also accept speedtest.net. [run the test when you're experiencing slowdowns - 5PM-2AM EST for me]

They opened a ticket and escalated it to their engineering dept to have a look at router congestion. Hopefully things can be resolved soon.

I only started having weird slow speeds starting this weekend. What I noticed is that when I restart my router or unplug the phone jack, the speeds are good, near 2mbs. I opened the »dslrouter page to keep track of my speed. Then every once in a while it would say no dsl connection and when it reconnects, each time the connection speed goes down. So it goes down from 2 mbs to 1 mb then to around 200-300kbs and stays there. Anyone else having this problem?
