anon : I have been having slower the dial up speeds for download and normal upload speeds in brooklyn (11229) I spent 30 minutes with 1 tech (got disconnected and he never called me back) and then over an hour with another Tech. Tried convincing them it is not my PC. They insisted on doing a Go to my PC remote connection anyway and checked all my settings. They told me even though they can see my connection is slow (they did 2 speed tests and tried browsing internet sites) the fact that a line test came up green there is a good chance the next level will find nothing wrong. I have been with Verizon for 8 years and had lots of issues in the beginning but have had very little for a while now before this one. I will give it another week and then guess i will switch to Cable. Good reason to try the triple play anyway. I was very disappointed with the fact I had to basically argue with them that my Pc was not the issue.

Heck, I am in 11213 and I was experiencing the problem too.

Luckily, they have resolved it for me, but many other users are still having the problem. Even suggesting that the complaints may have been fabricated is downright disrespectful and inappropriate considering that a lot of loyal, paying customers are suffering through this ordeal. If you are not or have not been experiencing the problem, then there really is no reason to post in this thread anyway; particularly posting the same thing over and over - that your speeds are great. We understand that your speeds may be fine, but our speeds are / were not fine. There is no need to repeatedly make the point. I really don't mean to come off as rude, just stating my opinion and speaking up for others who may still be going through this.

anon : yeah, same here in Bensonhurst brooklyn

it gets bad every day after 5:30PM so peek hours are as usual bringing down the service. But today has been slow pretty much all day. I'm not going to bother calling their useless support. They know, of course they do. The only thing to do is cancel the service and get something else like the previous poster did.
They either don't care or couldn't care less. one of those two options.

flatline_ : Same here. The last time I saw a slowdown had to be around 1999 or 2000. Currently I am getting ~850kbps down ~700kbps up on the 3/768 plan. It's been like this for over a week, time of day has no effect. Speeds are still bad even at 4:00 AM :( I mean, I didn't have a problem being patient for them to roll out the 7.1/768 plan, but this current slowdown has to be the final straw. Spoke to a Cablevision rep today and am awaiting a callback to initiate the switchover process of all of my services!
