Yeah, but at the same time they chose the right carrier considering the fact that T-mobile has alot more "Gotta have the newest, best stuff so I look cool" young customers compared to other carriers as it definetly doesn't seem business focused...

T-mobile has more customers worldwide than ATT does. For Google, going GSM was no-brainer #1. Since ATT is locked up with the iPhone, getting a ton of users in Europe and the USA using a single company is a very good idea. Of course, T-mobile in Europe now has the iPhone AND the G1. And with T-mobile rolling out their 3G network (finally), they happened onto a perfect launch platform.
