dsl.wlfrct.sbcglobal.net - poor ups - speedtest zip 06

zenfort : Hi,

I have 3m/512 for 1.5 years. Best speed usually has been 2550 down & 212 up. There was a major outage last week. phone line went done 3 times over 4 days. Since then my up speed has been between 17kbps and 140kbps with a max at one test of about 230kbps. Now running pretty consistently under 100kbps up.

I see when I search the speed test stats for zip 06 there are a few others with dsl.wlfrct.sbcglobal.net listed getting poor ups. I'm in Bloomfield and the others are in Mansfield, Storrs, Amston etc. I have the techs out the past couple of days the line test fine but in real world use (with any real file size) the throughput is very slow.

Before I had the first tech out it took about .5 hour to email a 2MB file. (after 2 attempts with broken sockets).

From my "Menu Meters" I see the transmission halting often.

A tech was suppose to swap out a dsl card on the pole (?) today. He called when he was taking me off line. Line is back up and I'm not seeing improvement.
Tech has not called again.

Yesterdays tech said he put in a note to make sure that the Tech that replaced the card would know to do a real world test (with laptop) verify fix.

Could there be a problem with dsl.wlfrct.sbcglobal.net exchange that they do not see with the tests?
