| "Channel Unavailable"
I used to get these every once in awhile, but as of late I am getting them on mostly every channel I watch about once every hour! It's more then annoying to say the least! I re-booted the router/HD-DVR to no avail. I thought maybe the HD-DVR was overheating, since i actually do have a stereo on top of half the HD-DVR. So I moved the stereo off and I am still getting the dreaded "BLACK screen of death." Any thoughts?? |

you'll need to power cycle the dvr every few days until the bug is fixed.
if you have a 6416, could be a signal problem. |

| reply to jaw2012 I have this problem constantly. I was told by a tech when I called that is was due to the fact that I am using a HDMI cable and to try switching to component cables. Unfortunately that isn't viable for my setup, so i have to deal with going to the website and resetting the box every day...sometimes several times a day. |

Sorry buts thats B/S, if it's a known issue with 7216 boxes then the boxes should be recalled and not issued. |

| You have to go to verizon.com and set up an on-line account for your verizon bill if you don't have one already. You need a copy of your bill and sign up. Once that is done you can go to the My Services page and click on TV and reset the box by clicking the reset box link. |

So far as the reset/reboot is concerned, unless I am greatly mistaken, the reset you are able to do online is no different from pulling the AC plug for 30 seconds or so.
The only way I am aware of having a MAJOR reset done is to call FSC and have them do it. Whatever it is that they do, you cannot issue that command from your Verizon.com account. When they issue that reset, I believe it will clear your recordings, parental PIN (if you set one) and other customizations you may have programmed. You can see why that is not something they make available to the subscriber.

| Yes the reset on-line is the same as pulling the plug. However with those of us with home theater setups, it isn't feasible to access the power cord every day. It is much easier to click on a link and have it happen immediately without having to move equipment and access panels. |

Rattler- Actually, the FSC can do a "soft" and "cold" INIT hit to your STB. The soft will not erase your recordings. (I had one sent yesterday) -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!" |
