Suddenlink Internet Down in St Martinville, LA area

DSLGal : Does anyone know what the heck is going on with Suddenlink Internet service in the St Martinville, LA area? My bf's service came up shortly after Hurricane Gustav, that was great, but then it inexplicably went down again this past Fri/Sat (9/19 or 9/20), with no useful information at all from their customer service. What is with this company? I'm sorry, I'm too spoiled out here in No Cal. Unfortunately, Suddenlink is the only broadband service available in his area, so people are held hostage to their down time. If anyone has any ideas, please do tell - thanks!
