It's not the same congestion as usual though. If I start a torrent download or use a download accelerator on an HTTP download, it's blazing fast and takes my connection to its full 10mbps. But any single-connection transfer is real slow.

I doubt Shaw ever actually fixed the congestion last year. It may just have been that the load has dropped. Massive latency issues around peak times(7pm-midnight). It took them over two months to finally fix the problem. I moved to the south west side of the city, and the issues have started up again within the last couple weeks.

Same timing as last year, it's rather odd. Either way I don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon knowing Shaw. I don't even bother calling anymore. All they do is send out a tech, he tests the line and determines it's fine(of course it is, he's testing it during the times when the issue DOESN'T happen).

Apparently fairly substantial interference issues on one of their lines.

We have called from a real land line(telus), they come up with some BS and never come to do a service call. I have used Shaw for the last 4 years never have I been treated like I was today. I used Telus adsl about 5 years ago and never had a problem with CSRs. If there ever was a problem it was fixed PDQ. Really I should not have to go through this for something I am paying for and not receiving. I would be better off with:
