You can thank the Florida AG for the cap, it was a required part of that settlement, That CC publish a set number. The FAP is the actual effective traffic management tool to prevent the "hogs" from interfering with others service.. |

Yes, we SHOULD thank the AG for forcing them to disclose the truth instead of "glass" ceilings and other untruths. -- Obama '08. You have to stop looking at things one sided or that makes one an extremist. And, in this case, an untruth is also something you simply disagree with or simply don't like. |

You have to stop looking at things one sided or that makes one an extremist. And, in this case, an untruth is also something you simply disagree with or simply don't like. Even CC said that the 250 is not "set in stone". Seems that the 400 GB is more what triggers an issue these days. The fact that they have to disclose a number is good because it gives paying users an idea what expectations they should have of the service they purchased, which is a reasonable expectation in any contract.
You may want to re-read your definition of an extremist and see who it may apply to while looking at a shiny reflective surface as a mirror. -- Obama '08. Will help resolve the terrible broadband issues we have that put us so far behind other countries. |

.. but, your attempt to turn it around on me was... cute.
Many people on this site are extremists. They can NOT see either side no matter what the issue... not so much accept it, but even see it.
As for the "250 not set in stone".. what does that have anything to do with what I said..? In a world of black and white, I'll stick with the 250gb as set in stone unless else is demonstrated with a valid pattern to back it up. |

DogfatherPremium join:2007-12-26 Laguna Hills, CA | reply to sturmvogel Same thing Cox does. Cox has VERY low 40GB caps, but apparently doesn't enforce them. But if they end up with a franchise where there are problems and they need to reign in a subscriber, there is a clear unambiguous number they can point to. Before Comcast would just say "cut your usage in half" and according to some forum posts people did that and still got cancelled. Comcast would call people abuses while refusing to clearly define what abuse was. Now they have a clear definition. If they choose to selectively enforce it, that's fine but if the time comes that they do there will be no more guessing bullcrap. |
