at first it was looking good, but after about 10 minutes it started doing the exact same thing.

he did say that everyone on the block is having issues, so someone is going to come out tomorrow and fix everything on the pole supposedly.

but that still doesn't explain why after getting this "new" modem, i cant even download anything..

that's downloading from usenet, which normally maxes my connection constant with no drops.

my only guess, which i forgot to mention :( , is that the modem the 1st guy gave us was a bad modem that someone else was having problems with... because its obviously used and in bad shape.. with nicks and other marks all over it.

anyway, a tech came out yesterday and said all our levels and signals are fine, so he switched our modem... we had a dpc2100, now we have a dpx100.

now webpages rarely load, and when downloading something, it pauses ever 5 - 10 seconds...

i remember a long time ago when my cousin bought his own modem and tried to use it, it was showing the same symptoms... like wow doesn't want to allow it...

so my question is, since i have a new modem, do i have to call wow to get them to "authorize" it even tho its rented from them?
