4 edits | NEWSFLASH!! It took YEARS...MANY MORE YEARS then the (less than) two years Democrats have been (barely) in control of Congress to plant the seeds that grew this awful plant! The Republicans had control of the Congress since early 1993 and TOTAL control of the Government from early 2001 until early 2007! The blame for this falls squarely in THEIR lap!
NEWSFLASH!! The reason we had the HUGE gas price increases we have was due to speculation in gas futures. Who FOUGHT for law changes to allow this? Oil man/President GEORGE W. BUSH! He doesn't give two $hit$ about any of us! All he cares about is fattening his and his buddies' wallets!
NEWSFLASH!! The Republicans are NOT out to help anyone but the most elite of their coven, and the sooner the rest of you realize this, the better off the REST of us will all be!
NEWSFLASH!! John McCain claims that he'll "shake things up in Washington". If you believe that, I've got a bridge in NYC I'll sell you-CHEAP! Do you really believe that he'll turn on his Republican buddies? Not gonna happen! It'll be business as usual there. Even worse, he was one of the CAUSES!

I can appreciate the sentiment here, but there is nothing noticeably different between Gee Oh Pee white collar criminals and spineless Democrats as they both represent and profit from the same criminal corporate entitities. The Democrats are a just a spineless version of the Republicans.
Both parties want the same thing: Money and lots of it. Don't kid yourself into thinking that the Democrats are some kind of citizen-centric group. LMAO. The only citizens they concern themselves with have the letters "Inc." or "LLC" after its name. |

I agree with you-to a point...BUT there's no way in hell that the Republicans (the ones who GAVE us this mess in the first place) should be trusted to dig us out of it!
ANY change would be better then what we have now-and I'm sorry, but I am NOT convinced that John McCain represents any change whatsoever from what we have now AT ALL!

And in that Contract were the seeds of this financial downfall. Deregulation was pushed heavily, and the removal of barriers that prevented financial firms like banks from owning stakes in say auditing firms, brokerage firms, insurance companies, etc etc etc all were happening.
"De-regulate the market!" was the Mantra. Well, the rules, safeguards, and oversights were indeed dropped or weakened... Now jump back to the future and SURPRISE look at the result.
