It started in the past week. You can always edit your hosts file if there's something you typically type in the browser, or you can do what would be the easiest way, and just type "cnn" into firefox 3 and let it auto-complete for you based on your previous browsing.

I think people like to bash cablevision. If verizon did this with fios everybody would be praising it.
