Does anyone on here know how to configure the 2wire 2700 HG-B to receive wifi in hotspots? 2Wire told me it can be done, but since they don't support it being used for that they won't explain how to do it. |

| reply to jmikey for WIFI connection that you would like to have, u actually doesn't need the 2wire because hotspots uses thier own router to provide it's guests/members wifi access. you just need to make sure that your computer is wireless capable. like newer laptops today..if your not, u need to purchase a wireless adapter. |

| reply to jmikey Everything I ever heard is that the 2700HG-B can only act as wireless AP, not as a wireless client. In fact I heard it can have issues if nothing is connected to its DSL port. Although, it appears to run a variation of Linux, so if you could hack the firmware, who knows.
I do use a wireless router capable of being configured as "wireless client bridge" to connect my wired desktop and old laptop to a 2Wire (2700HG-B or 2701HB-b after the former died). |
