mediahound : I currently have a Broadcom DSL modem that is over 4 years old. Would I get any faster speed by getting a Speed Stream 4100 modem? I'm not sure if my Broadcom supports ADSL2 (I'm not even sure what ADSL2 is).

My friend said I should get a newer DSL modem and recommended the Speed Stream 4100 but I'm not sure I really need it? I would buy it if I would see a performance increase though.
