| Re: Gaming latency: Comcrap vs DSL? you cant *really* compare game server pings unless you're directly pinging them from command line. in-game ping is affected by other things than just connection speed, such as game connection settings and some server settings. for example, Valve games have console commands that can "artificially" lower or raise your displayed ping. you can also have a very low ping but have your hits register after someone else with a slightly higher ping due to other client-side connection settings.
in-game pings dont mean much when comparing to other people and trying to determine the better connection.
