I have 5/1 and have been switched over to ADLS2+ for a couple of years now, the 5/1 really should be set to ADSL2+ by default because hitting those uploads on regular DSL just doesnt happen, ive tried a lot of differnt modems but the only way to get a 1meg upload is with an ADSL2+ modem and the line coding set to ADSL2+.

Alan
You make an excellent point. It really ought to be that way and I will work on getting it changed. You should hear back from me within the next week.

OK, So we think we can do this. New customers will get ADSL2+ by default. For current customers, you can now call up and request ADSL2+ encoding. If you don't already have an ADSL2+ modem, we will ship you one for a $10 shipping fee. You need to return your old modem in good, working order.

Please understand that it always takes a few days for all 50+ tech support people to get the word and learn new procedures. We are trying to get this out as quickly as possible and let you all know right away. If you call a tech and they don't seem to know the drill yet, please be patient. As always, you can reach me directly at fkittredge@gwi.net. Thank you for using GWI!

regards,
Fletcher

Hey thats excellent news, does that stand for all packages? It would help the 3meg users too as far as syncing goes on long lines.

Thanks

Thanks very much!

I think I'll buy my own ADSL2+ modem. Has anybody had luck with the Zoom 5615?

I have never used a zoom but I know one person with one and he is happy with it.
