kes601 join:2007-04-14 Virginia Beach, VA 2 edits | Extreme HD and Essentials I've been told these new packages will go live Oct. 4 in all packages markets (not the channels, the new prices). I'm trying to find out what happens to current customers -- if we get moved to essentials automatically or what.
Edit: Oops, typo -- I meant all markets and not all packages, hopefully it makes sense now. |

1 edit | reply to joe01880 I've been reporting on the availability of the Essentials and Extreme HD packages in OR for over a week ago.
P.S. Actually first noticed on 2 Sept: »Re: RFD No Longer Available in OR? |

In the new areas of Seattle & Buffalo, new subs have been complaining they get no HD's except their locals without the Extreme pacakge which is $57.99. In the NYC area, where they are treating customers well (102 HD's), we are automatically getting Extreme with no price increase. |

kes601 join:2007-04-14 Virginia Beach, VA | Hmm...local HD's only w/o Extreme is what this guy said as well. I've asked him if he can clarify what will happen to current customers, I'll let you know if I hear back. |

1 edit | reply to kes601 For me, the TV Packages via MyVerizon are now showing the proper lineups in the popup window for each package... (this wasn't the case about a week ago). After a quick glance, the lineups appear to match what's been discussed to date re: differences between Essentials and Extreme HD packages.
But poor Verizon, they can't even market their own stuff very well -- the summary text between the Essentials and Extreme HD package are nearly identical. For now, if you don't scrutinized the actual channel lineup, you'd come to the conclusion that the Extreme HD is a scam And even then, you might still think so unless you want the sports package. |

I figured that was the case as to why I couldn't see it, we'll see what happens in a week or so. |

Weird, must be a bug in the forums -- I could have sworn your post said it was responding to mine? Or you can blame it on my aging eyes |

kes601 join:2007-04-14 Virginia Beach, VA 1 edit | reply to kes601 Ok, according to the sales person some of the new stations will be made available to current customers on the Premier Package. Sounds like what is going on in other areas -- current customers will get almost everything, but probably withholding enough stations to get some of us to change to Extreme HD. New customers will only get HD locals w/o Extreme HD.
What I'll probably do is just to Extreme HD and change my 20/20 to 20/5 Internet to offset most of the cost. |
