[Vista] Could This Work?

OK, I bought a Gateway MT6451 laptop from a friend. It has Vista Home Premium.
I had to do a complete recovery to be able to install/delete software. I did all the updates, etc, to be sure it was up to date.
This Vista is a royal pain, folks!!. I have never seen an OS that has you go around your butt to get to your elbow, so to speak.

So, I am curious to find out if I were to use the device manager to get a list of all the hardware by mfgr/model, and get the Xp drivers for them, can I "downgrade" to Xp, and have everything work? Or would Xp have these drivers in its legacy drivers list?

Thank You DOStradamus, for your help with this.
Should I presume that the WiFi card and the memory card reader will work also?
I found nothing as to a mfgr, etc for them.

Also, there was only Sigma Tel High Definition Audio Codec.
Where did the 9250 come from? an Update? Just curious.

Here is the URL to the Gateway specification site:

Under Windows XP you also want to install the ATI chipset drivers and AMD CPU driver. Otherwise its possible that you could have problems related to the power management.

Modem drivers can be hard to find, but Windows Update has most of them.
