| Mystery: Help identifying a power adapter?
I picked up a couple of interesting looking touchpad-looking devices st a garage sale, but neither of them had a power adapter. They look to be Japanese, and the input for power looks like the attached crude drawing (it's only a few mm wide). The back of the device has some english: "battery 7.4v, li-ion" and it says it's "microsoft windows powered." The front of the device has a shiny "TG" emblem. Looks cool enough to tinker with, if I can get it powered up Any help would be appreciated. |

| Is there any other visible identification markings (MFR's Model/Part#), etc.?
If you could post a Pic of both sides of the device, that would be Very helpful...

Here are some pictures. There's a P/N labeled 511897, no model # that I can discern. |

| Could you post a Closeup pic of the label above the Barcode?
That looks suspiciously like an SD Memory Card slot on the Righthand Side...(?) And, if you remove the 2 screws on that Bottom Cover, does it contain a Lithium-Ion battery?
If So, I'm taking a Wild-@$$ed Guess that it might just be an LCD 'Picture Frame'... a Device that displays Photos stored on an SD Card...(?)

| The only camera I have that has a macro mode is out of batteries at the moment (why am I always a few AA batteries short?)... but I'm certain that it's not a picture frame. That slot is more PCMCIA slot-sized. Yes, there's a 7.4V battery underneath the cover. |

| reply to sbt99 The "TG" label may be from TG Sambo (who has gone through a variety of TG-variant names in their corporate lifetime), a Korean maker of multimedia playing devices, as well as laptops. And Tursiops_G may have it right... possibly a digital picture frame or some other kind of SIM/SMD driven media player. It's also possible the unit was acquired overseas (or directly from overseas) - hence the Oriental characters on the rear left-side label. -- If God wanted us to work with electrons, He'd make them big enough to see... |

It's hard to determine size without something like a Ruler (or even a Coin) visible in the shot for Perspective...
What are the markings right next to the Power Socket?
Also, Is that an I/O connector that I see at the Bottom of the Front shot?

| reply to sbt99 Just open up that thing up and solder up a regular (circular) power jack with 2 pieces of wire, so you can power it from a 7.5V adapter, or an equivalent amount of battery. (5*1.5V or 6*1.2V). The polarity can be determined from the electrolytic caps. -- Stick a lip on a pig! |

I am betting it's a tablet PC...
Is there a slot to store a stylus in? |
