Yes, I tried logging in on Wednesday and it worked for me.

Have you tried using it from a different computer to confirm it is not a local PC issue?

I was getting great speeds too (about 600kbps to 900kbps). I used news.east.earthlink.net. The port has to be 119 (I tried another port and couldn't access the newsgroups). I set this port # in my newsgroup software (free Grabit!). You might have to open up the port in your router or software firewall too. (Turn off your firewall and try to access Usenet to test and see if it was blocking you.)

I use www.Newzleech.com to find my stuff and free Grabit! to grab my files. I'm glad I have EL instead of Time Warner (which dumped Usenet) for the Usenet feature alone. - have you tried creating a second account through earthlink's website and trying to log on with it? (EL allows you to create e up to 8 I believe)

- have you tried nntp.earthlink.net as well?

When I signed up, they had just switched over to Giganews and everything was working for me. For about the last 1-2 months, I've been unable to log in to the usenet server. Earthlink support has been useless :-(
