Unlocks?

Having the iPhone onVerizon's network, assuming it's still CDMA by the time the iPhone comes out for them, would mean that the phone could likely be hacked to put it onto Sprint. On the other hand, if VZW gets an LTE network by the time the iPhone comes out, then it'd be a more logical upgrade path for the iPhone, excluding Sprint though.

That would be assuming that Sprint would allow a 'non' Sprint device on its network.

They've already said they'd do it, and they certainly wouldn't turn down an iPhone . Their Instinct uses more data per month probably than the iPhone does.

If Sprint won't allow a Verizon Voyager or other 'non' Sprint phone on its network, why would it allow an iPhone ?
Sprint has its own 'Instinct' to sell, specifically so they can lock you into a contract. Having an unlocked iPhone from another carrier defeats that purpose.

They're *supposed* to be allowing foreign devices on their network now. THe Voyager may well be flashed by Verizon to not allow it to go onto Sprint. Sprint can still make you sign a contract for their service.

With LTE you will be using Verizon and AT&T networks. There's just no way they'd be able to provide extensive coverage without extensive co-operation with roaming customers.

Is Sprint allowing non-Sprint devices, or Verizon locking the devices, or a mix of both.

Most of the stuff is Verizon clocking stuff down. To some extent Sprint only allows its own stuff on the network, but I've heard in the news that they're openng up.

The iPhone is garbage, just a fancy screen and animations. Google Android is the future of smartphones .

Jailbroken iPhone is just as open as Android. OTOH, I do like HTC stuff...have both the Mogul and the iPhone and use the Mogul more. Problem is: T-Mobile has lousy coverage up here in buildings. When Sprint gets an Android phone I'll probably use it.

Or can you put Android onto a Mogul? May try that once I upgrade to the Touch pro.
