[iO] Black bars on top and bottom?

Just got a Samsung 40" LCD series 3 and connected my HD DVR iO box and have black bars at top and bottom. I find this rather odd since this a 16:9 ratio screen. I am using the red/green/blue cables as I did not get an HDMI cable yet. Could this be the problem? I did run through the HD setup wizard on the iO box but same results. TV is here...

what channel are you watching? SD channels with widescreen movies will show like that.

Voom channels to test. 785 and 786. I switched to HDMI and same results.

I would think SD channels would have black bars on the sides, not the top and bottome.

change the format on the samsung remote, if this does not work then do the IO HDTV setup again, if all fails then call cablvision
