I do find it a bit strange that the registration code is case-specific, but I'm now on the list. Unfortunately, most of the telemarketing I'm getting these days is either from VoIP numbers like 000-000-0000 or 123-456-7890 or from toll-free numbers in the US, both of whom I doubt will care one little bit about this registry.

One of the girls I work with also got this message this morning, but, she just tried again and was able to register. She said it took about three tries, but, it finally allowed her to get in. |

| Makes sense it's only for 3 years - so many people change phone numbers so often, and telco's can re-assign old numbers after 2 years I believe - so it makes sense that you would have to renew in 3 years - by then the number may belong to someone else. I wish it had a place to give them an email address where they could send a reminder when it was about to expire (I've had the same email address for 12 years and plan on having it "on into eternity"). |
