| [AB] Slow upload lately....
I am in Calgary. Country hills area. On the 5mb/512kbps package. The download speed is perfect except the upload speed has been horrid the past week and a half.
The upload speed isn't consistent. I can't even upload a file (no not bittorrent) without it:
a) timing out b) starts out at 70-100kbps then it slows down to dial-up speed or worse (i don't have speedboost)
Troubleshooting I've done:
A) Bypassing my router B) I've tried other computers. It is the same result on those computers as well. Fast download/horrible upload.
Honestly I wouldn't mind it going 200-230kbps if it was a sustained speed and didn't time out 80% of the time.
It doesn't matter what time of day it is either.
Any advice or ideas?
Thanks for your time. |

@shawcable.net | Also I forgot to mention that my internet cable modem is one of the old Motorola CyberSURFR Wave modems.
Is it pointless to get one of the newer modems for my internet? |

Do I have to call them first? Or just when I want to get the modem activated? |

| Thanks for your help. Shaw finally emailed me back and said there is packet loss (not a big surprise to me). So they have scheduled a tech for Thursday to replace my modem and "check some cables".
So I will update this thread after they've been here. |

Just wanted to let everyone know. |
