Cable launches the network DVR at the beginning of next year? 4 stream recording will be a standard, not a luxury |

| I'd say it's a good thing if your a U-Verse customer. I like the idea of having a central box that stores and manages my content that can be viewed or listened to from either TV in my house. If four stream recording will be a standard, then U-Verse appears to be compliant.
* Record up to four programs at once on a single DVR -- another feature that is exclusive to AT&T U-verse TV. |

I know people who live a mile from me that can get it, but I can't.
Rule of thumb is if your line piggybacks an aerial, you're SOL until that is dug in the ground. Not soon for me (closer to 5 years or more). |

Uverse coverage has nothing whatsoever to do with aerial or buried plant. Connecticut is, by far, mostly aerial and it works just fine here. In fact, my line is 100% aerial. It is based entirely on the location of the VRAD and your proximity to that VRAD.
Unfortunately the distance limitations of Uverse hurt more than anything. Max loop length is about 3500' on 24ga copper. Anything more than that and you need to wait for pair bonding (which will be good to about 5500'). |

| that loop length shouldn't matter. ATT claims that 700 people can be serviced from that one VARD.
Seems like ATT is up to their lies yet again on servicing people. And don't hold your breath on pair bonding anytime soon since they're still fixing their DVR streams and HDTV. |

One VRAD can serve 192, 384 or 768 customers (depending on actual cabinet size) but all customers MUST be within that 3500' limit from the VRAD, through the SAI and to the premise. In other words, if 768 people were all 3500' or less from the VRAD -- all could get Uverse service. However, even with a 52E VRAD cabinet (the one that serves up to 768 customers), if only 100 were within 3500' then only 100 could get service.
I'm not sure what you are referring to as far as fixing their DVR streams and HDTV. My DVR works just fine as does my HDTV. And now that I have whole home DVR it's even better. |

You're wrong. It does. ATT has never said otherwise.
'ATT claims that 700 people can be serviced from that one VARD.'
And they can be.
'And don't hold your breath on pair bonding anytime soon since they're still fixing their DVR streams and HDTV.'
Two completely and unrelated issues. |
