the signal levels could vary fast enough that the changes wont be seen on the diagnostic screen. there could be cable line noise issues that the diagnostic screen also doesnt display. the box could be overheating. check analog channel 78 & 73, if its clear and not fuzzy like theres a weak signal or noisy like theres interference, the rest of your digital channels should be ok
