| reply to cyber062 From what I can see they did not fix an "email notification issue", they made it worse! Today I had over 60 log files emailed to me from the router and a large number of them were far from being full, 72kb is not a full log, normally the size is around 400kb. I have email notification set to only send the logs when they're full. D-Link screws up again! |

| This is just a guess, but I believe that to allow the USB sharing functionality, D-Link newest firmware uses more memory, leaving less for storing the "Log". That way, the Log gets full a lot faster than it used to.
As I said, this is just a guess, but I believe this is the reason for the decrease of the Log size. |

| reply to eots I guess I didn't explained my self clearly, the router has it's internal memory where it stores it's configuration parameters, firmware and also the log, if the firmware uses more of that memory, then there's less space for storing the log, so the reduced log size. The SecureSpot software should definitively use more Router internal memory, leaving less memory for storing the log.
At D-Link ftp site there is a non SecureSpot firmware version 1.21 available for download, you could check that one out to see if it permits the log to grow larger before e-mailing it. |

Yes, considerably fewer lines of text on the smaller log files, but the top line always says "Sending log email as log is full". |

| reply to llgomezg You're still misunderstanding the issue. The log files that are being sent range in size from 72kb to over 300kb yet they all say the log is full. Clearly the log can't be full on the 72kb file if the router is still capable of sending log files that have over 300kb of stored data in them. This has nothing to do with the SecureSpot feature taking up router memory and there's only a 49kb difference between firmware sizes. |

| reply to cyber062 I'm getting endless power-cycling with v1.21, using PPPoE with MTS (Canada).
I had put in all the parameters manually. Everything was fine until I put in my PPPoE settings and tried connecting.
Fortunately, after I unplugged the WAN cable, I was able to go back to v1.20. Mine's an A2.
Anyone else have PPPoE problems? |

| I'm also in Canada and have had no issues with my PPPoE connection using the 1.21 firmware and my router is an A1. My connection has been solid for the past 5.5 days.
I'd try re-flashing the router with the 1.21 firmware and try again, perhaps the first time it wasn't 100% successful. I've seen PPPoE problems with firmware for other routers (ie. Trendnet) where flashing with the same firmware resolved the connection problem. |
