Got a new bill here in Northern KY and the enclosed flyer is about Digital 4.0

Interestingly, it addresses the HD On Demand and says:

"Over 200 great titles in HD to choose from every month. Watch for riveting HD programming from popular channels like AMC, IFC, Ovation, MTV, WE, Fuse, and others."

My bill itself mentions that because of expanded on demand features, all West Coast premium channel feeds are being dropped, which is something I don't think we'd heard before but probably makes sense.

If they broadcast every channel in digital then every customer would need a cable box on every tv in their homes, or newer TVs with QAM tuners for the unencrypted channels.
Or a converter box... which is already being pushed onto everyone using an anteanna. Why not push it on people with cable too? There's models out there with QAM tuners that aren't much more expensive than the ATSC-only converters.

Just a heads up to check the listing of new HD channels for your areas. They just added some. My area now has FXHD, Weather Channel HD, ESPNU HD, ESPNNEWS HD, and the Disney Channel HD listed.

I just wish that they would quit teasing us and either give us a date of when the channels will be available or just go ahead and activate it already. The anticipation is killing me.

They've added ABC Family HD, Disney HD, ESPNNews HD, ESPNU HD, FX HD, and Weather HD to Bowling Green. I wonder why we didn't get Speed HD too...

I believe so. I have one also.

As always, you wont be able to view the onDemand channels.

the channels work just fine on my Tivo HD. However until Tivo updates their guide with the new channels (not sure how long) you have to manually tune to the channel.

OK, so, sure, this is nice and all, but the channels dedicated to On Demand themes are getting absolutely ridiculous! They're neutering the on screen cable guide !

There's just no point... OK, I take that back... I guess the point is to try and sell more on demand programs, but it's ruining the service. Not only that, it's also obviously getting too detailed. If I go to the channel "HD Movies OD Horror & Sci-Fi" what do I find there? First, a menu titled "Sci Fi", I selected that, then I get an option titled "A-Z", and then my final results? "Prom Night - HD". That's it!?! That's why we have a menu dedicated to HD On Demand Horror and Sci Fi? Who thought this up?

Please Insight, give us some way to configure the guide to take out these useless (regardless of how many choices they have within them) On Demand Channels. Either that or get rid of the channels entirely...

Sorry for the rant... just a little frustrated trying to browse through the new channels... :/

It's ok, all of us feel your frustration. I don't really want to have anything to do with the channels either, but there is nothing we can do about it except ignore them. ^_^

I have to agree. Having all those On Demand channels can really be a pain to search through. If nothing else, put them at the end of the list. Start with 999 and go backwards. Don't put channels then on demand channels then more channels. This organization of channels just doesn't make sense.

I agree 100%, it's hard to scroll through and see whats on because you get all the garbage intermixed. I wish they would organize them so the "Free" ones were all together, then the ones you get if you get the digital choice, then the ones for the rediculus HD Pack, then the subscription ones, then the ON Demand stuff. If I want to watch something that is On Demand, I just push the button on my remote. I'm also waiting for Disney HD here in NKY.
