said by inftaxs:Most of the time my simul-ring cell phone rings way after the VT phone. This is explained by the delay the cellular system needs to locate your phone, send the call to your phone and your phone respond.
Make a phone call to your phone from a landline.
If you have CDMA (Verizon, Sprint, Alltel), you hear ring back immediately, you phone will ring after 2-8 seconds (based on CDMA slot index for your network).
If you have a GSM phone (ATT, T-Mobile), you will hear silence until the system locates your phone and the ring-back coincides with the actual ringing on the handset.
In both cases, the cell phone rings later then a landline/VOIP phone.
In the 15 or so months I have had VT I have never had the problem you describe, the Verizon cell phone has always rung less than a second after the VT line ringing. The same was true when I had Packet8. The condition I reported above is a new problem I have not see before.
