Re: AOL discontinues web hosting as of 10/31/08

This is BS, the only reason I stayed with AOL the past 15 years is that my web site was top of all the search engines and I didn't want to run the risk of losing my placement. After years of link exchanges and time spent on keeping the web page updated I will have to start again. I will not be with AOL once they destroy my work. I hope someone starts a class action suit against AOL.

From an email I received from AOL today:

Dear AOL Hometown/FTP user,

We’re sorry to inform you that effective October 31st 2008, all the files in AOL® Hometown/FTP space will be deleted and will no longer be available for download for all AOL members. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We urge you to save your AOL® Hometown content immediately, and consider other options to host your site. You will be able to modify your Hometown site until October 31, 2008.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sincerely,

The AOL Hometown Team
