Signal drop

I bought good yagi and installed it on my roof this summer. I consistently had -75dbm readings on a spectrum analyzer. A few weeks ago I signed up and began using a KPC-680 with the roof antenna. Readings were -71dbm per the modem. I moved the modem 2 feet from the side of the house to the attic for protection from the weather. Same cables--same everything but now it's -87dbm. This is driving me nuts. Any ideas?
